Dental Approval to Acquire

Apply for an Approval to Acquire dental radiation equipment. You will need an approval every time you seek to purchase or otherwise obtain radiation equipment.

Dental Use Licence

Apply for a licence to use a radiation source for a dental service. You need this licence before you can perform a dental radiation service.

Setting up your radiation business

New radiation businesses will need to follow a process to set-up their radiation sources and premises:

  1. Possession Licence—have overall ownership and control of radiation source
  2. Approval to Acquire—purchase or otherwise obtain a radiation source
  3. Use Licence—perform a dental radiation service

Dental radiation business services include:

  • intra-oral radiography
  • extra-oral radiography
  • hard and soft tissue laser procedures.

You may also need to relocate or dispose of radiation equipment.
