Radiation Health is currently installing a new licensing database. It is expected that there will be delays in processing applications during this implementation stage. Your patience will be appreciated.

Welcome to the Radiation Health website.

Radiation Health is the government's radiation safety agency. It has statewide policy, licensing and legislative responsibility for radiation health standards and radiation safety. Radiation Health is a unit within the Division of the Chief Health Officer. It provides scientific and technical advice to all Queenslanders on all ionising and non-ionising radiation safety matters in the interest of minimising health risks and protection of the environment.

Radiation Health administers Queensland's Radiation Safety Act 1999 and the Radiation Safety Regulation 2010, which regulates some sources of ionising radiation and laser apparatus.
