Fruit and Veg campaign

The Healthier.Happier. fruit and vegetable campaign is designed to promote the health benefits associated with increasing fruit and vegetable consumption.

The issue

As part of a healthy, balanced diet, eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables may provide some protection to a number of chronic diseases. Unfortunately, only 9 percent of adults and 6 per cent of children are currently consuming the recommended serves of vegetables each day.

The campaign

Queensland Health's fruit and vegetable campaign commenced in July 2015 and promotes the health benefits associated with eating more fruit and vegetables.

To coincide with the campaign launch, and to act as an ongoing resources and information hub, Queensland Health has released an updated version of the Healthier.Happier. website.

The new site includes a wider range of healthy recipes, as well as additional information and tools to better promote and encourage healthy eating and a healthier lifestyle.

An interactive colour wheel, designed to outline the key health benefits associated with eating different colour fruits and vegetables can be found on the Healthier.Happier homepage.
